wogoman weekly - volume 48

Every time I hit send I think, oh . . . I forgot to tell them all . ..

So here is the thing I keep forgetting.  Tenille told me the other day she couldn't go to school.  Why you may ask, Well her feet were too tired.  Feet too tired . . my goodness girl.  She screams about boots and people pushing her all in her sleep.  This morning she yelled that someone took her boots off so I covered her up and told her here you go, I put them back on, she rolled over and said thank you.  Good grief!

This past week has been FULL of events. Jason took a bad bounce on a softball and probably broken his right middle finger.  It also hit just right so it basically popped the end of his finger like a zit . . .gross right?  That healed up just it time for him to go to the emergency room for a kidney stone.  As of now he has still not passed the stone but he feels SO much better.  I had to leave school to go to the hospital and Lanny had to bring home his truck later that day.

Over Memorial day weekend we had lots of people over and got lots of work done.  Max and Ethan came over with their parents and rode the four wheeler.  Jason painted our barn (red and white of course) which makes it look so much better.  It currently is housing a momma cat and her kittens.  I opened the door the other day to find something hissing at me.  I know it is a barn but we are not used to animals actually living in there.  :)  We are letting them stay so hopefully they will get the mice that have been in there.  Always need a good mouser and Tenille loves then.  Can't  catch them but hopefully they will do the job.

Now on to the bee front.  One of my hive was just not doing as good a job of eating as the other.  My uncle Jack came over and confirmed what I hoped would not be the case.  In my one hive the bees had a coup.  They didn't like their queen.  So the killed Lovelace.  She didn't make it. :(  They did make new queen cells before they killed Lovelace so hopefully they will have a queen soon . . . so now I have to come up with a new name.  The other hive hypatia, is doing great.  So now we are in a waiting game to see what happens in the weaker hive . . . and I have to come up with a new name . . . darn it all.  . . . . .

Well, I think that about sums it up.  I will end on a Tenille saying because those are the best.  We were eating out and J went to the bathroom.  When he came back, Tenille asked him, " Dad, did you get the stone out yet. "  " Nope" he said.  "Well are you disappointed?" was her comment.  She is too funny!

wogoman weekly - volume 46 and 47

The school year is coming to a close.  You would think I would be siting around eating bon bons or something.  Nope, running around with my head cut off is more like it.

Had a crazy busy week last week and then spent the weekend in Boyne City for our annual family  trip.  The weather was perfect.  We played on the beach for two days.  I covered Tenille up with sunscreen and a UV shirt.  Not letting any of those bad rays get my baby!  She didn't mind, there were rocks and shells to collect.  What to get her something for her upcoming birthday?  We are in to shells and rocks.  We collect them wherever we go.  Came home this weekend with a LARGE bucket full.  We put them around her tree in our front yard.  At least we are trying to use them right?

On the way back from Boyne we stopped at Jason's grandma's 90th birthday party.  Saw the family and then headed home to that pool.  I played a little with my bees and then jumped in the pool.  Water was 92 degrees.  We don't heat it, it just gets that warm with the cover on it.  Nice huh?

After wards, Tenille took off her swim suit and when I found her she was pushing her stroller all around the drive way.  BUCK naked. She didn't care or even think about the fact she didn't have any on.  I told her to go inside and get clothes.  She did, later we found out that meant she didn't have any underware on but at least she can clothes.

Major garage sales this weekend in Middlebury.  I scored a record/cd/tape/am/fm player for 20 bucks.  Usually 150 in the store.  Next garage sale I got a stack of kid 45s for Tenille.  She LOVES it.  Unfortunately she likes everything on high chipmunk speed.  Too cute.

Had our date with the dygert boys and Tenille got her toes done.  Yep we did the boys' toes too.  Their daddy wasn't really happy about that.  Tenille did come home and tell us that Ryan Crisp (a boy from school) is telling everyone that she is his girl friend.  I told J we could do a lot worse than get a son in law whose parents were both in our wedding.  J grumbled something like, I don't want to talk about boys yet.

There is a picture this week of Jason and Tenille.  I came out of the bedroom one night to find this seen.  Tenille was helping daddy shoot the coon coons that were eating Flo's food.  Didn't get one that night but it was still fun to watch them.

Well I hope all is well and that you enjoyed the rain that we finally got last night.  My plants needed it so badly.  So have a great week!

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 45

Well as you can tell, the bees are here!  They packed up their suitcases and away they came.  Jason volunteered to put them up for me since he was down in that part of the woods giving a test for firefighter one and two.  On the way home he calls me and says,"  I am not sure what superpower you have, but I want it!  You have just convinced me to put two hives of bees in the back seat of my truck and they are making a whole bunch of noise!"  Poor guy, had to drive 45 minutes with thousands of bees in cardboard boxes. :)

My Uncle came out of and helped me put them in the hives.  I'm the one that looks like a super little lady in a big guy suit with the white hat. :)  We saw the queen in both hives and even though my uncle kept saying 'We aren't going to mess around with them, just going to put them in there, we were able to see all sorts of cool things.  We were the thing to watch that night so some of our neighbors even came over and watched.  Nothing big happens in Middlebury.  :)  I went to Harding's and literally almost bought them out of sugar.  Right now the bees are eating mostly sugar water until the can get going.  2 cups sugar, 1 cup water.  I bought 50 pounds of sugar.  At the rate they are eating it, that won't last the month.  Look more math!  Every time I learn more about bees there is math involved.

So therefore, I have decided to name the queens Hypatia and Lovelace.  Both female mathematicians in history.  Both productive and awesome ladies.  Both came to a horrible ends. Hypatia of Alexandria was one of the first women in mathematics and the Christians didn't like her so they attached her to her chariot and drug her through the streets naked, then brought her to a temple and killed her.  Ada Lovelace was the world's first computer programmer back in the early 1800's.  She got uterine cancer (at age 36) and so the doctors did a little blood letting.  They let too much out.  The end.  I know I am a nerd!

Now who can say that this isn't informative huh?

I do have to giggle because some friends of ours came over right after we were all done.  Felicia laughed at me and said I looked "hot" in my outfit.  I was wearing, boggs(my favorite work boots), capris(which J hates), and old goshen fire department shirt, my hair up in a ponytail and covered with a hanker chief.  These are my normal working outside clothes.  No one told me to dress up to go get dirty! :)  Guess Felicia has only ever seen me out in public.  These clothes are what I wear all the time outside at home.  hmmmmm maybe I can start a new trend. :)

Got our new dinner triangle sanded, painted and mostly installed.  Had trouble with the top screw.  I stripped it out so I have to repaint another one and try again.  I put it at Tenille height so she could ring it to her hearts content.  And she does.  At least the neighbors will know when it is time to eat. :)

Baby Katie (my sister's daughter) turned one this week.  Tenille made sure to help with all parts of the party.  It was a nice time.  We got to see family and watch Katie eat cake.  Always a joy.

So that is about it.  Nope wait . . last night on our nightly rounds we found a new egg in a blue bird nest!  So we have one robin sitting on a nest (too high to see the eggs) one bluebird with one egg, one chickadee on three eggs, two empty nests for right now, two hives of bees, and a dog.  That about sums in up, now we just need a partridge in a pear tree. :)
