wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 26

I hope this email finds you all happy, healthy, and ready for the new year!

Christmas was so magical with a 3 and a half year old. She loved every minute except Christmas morning. She woke up but was too tired to open some of her presents right at the beginning. We thought for sure she was sick and even took her temp. Nothing. Just turns out she really isn't ready to open presents until she is wide awake. By the time she opened her markers from Santa, she was much more lively. :)

We spend Christmas Eve morning with Phil and Sharon. There she got Bitty baby. Bitty doesn't have a name other than Bitty baby. It sleeps with her every night and even when to church with us on Christmas Eve. It is a reslint doll. It got candle wax on her head and the doll didn't even cry. :) Neither did the mommy Tenille because she got the wax off befor Tenille saw it. Then it was off to my Aunt Doreen's house. We got to see tons of family that we haven't seen for so long. I even got to meet my cousin's daughter finally. They live in Canada and I was sick when they were here for Thanksgiving. We of course had out white elephant gift exchange there. I am the proud owner of the tug boat rock for the next year. My Uncle Jack found the rock at it look just like a tug boat. My brother had it last year. This year I have it. It will go back into the gift exchange next year. That is the rules set up My Uncle Jack. You have to take care of the rock and you have to bring it back next year. We have that and a gaint nome. My cousin Jordan and her husband have had it for two years. Maybe next year we can get the nome!

Christmas morning we stayed home until 1 and then went to my parents house. It was awesome as always. It was cool to see Tenille and Katie help eveyone open their gifts. By then Tenille was into opening everything! It was wonderful to spend so much time with some many family memebers. And we were blessed that J didn't have to work EITHER day! Pretty cool?

All in all I got 10 books and an Amazon Kindle. If you can't find me in the next few months it is because I either have a my noise in a book or ..... no I will probably just have my nose in a book! :) One book is already done by the way and I am head long into my next one.

We have enjoyed our time off of school. Tenille has only cried once that she wants to go back to school and see her friends. I guess that is a good thing. We are having another couple with two boys over for New Year's Eve so hopefully that will help her because she will have TWO boys to play with. Grandpas, no fear, we have Dad on the lose here that is ready to make sure those two boys behave themsevles. Their parents have already decided that Tenille should marry one of the boys some day. So we will be sure to let you know how the night goes. Not really sure about taking Tenille back to daycare. She has more bruises and straches from spending a week with me then she gets in a whole month of daycare. Currently she is working on getting a black eye from running around Jeff and Heather's house last night and running straight into Jeff and his glass he was drinking from. She didn't even cry. :) What a tough lady.

Well the sushi rice is done cooking and now has to cool down before we can start making all the sushi for tonight. The kids are getting pasta. :) Have a great da, enjoy your time with family and friends!

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 25

I keep forgetting to mention every week and Tenille can spell her name.
The first time she told me she spelled it t-e-n-i-l-e. I said that is great honey but you have two L's in your name. We did that so people wouldn't call you Te-Nile. she looked at me and said, "Well I don't like two L's in my name! so I am going to spell it t-e-n-i-l-e. I guess as a parent you never win. Since this first spelling conversation she has learned to spell her name with two L's and then adds, "You did that mommy so people wouldn't say my name wrong, right?" I really have to watch what I say around her.

I was able to scratch some time to myself in the last week and a half and read the Hunger Games series. If you haven't read it, you should. Hunger Games (the first book) is coming out as a movie this spring. It was such a good book that I didn't get much sleep at night. It is hard to read with a 3 year old running around asking you to play with her and her antlers. So off to bed she would go and into my book I would go. So there is my book(s) pick of the week. :) The third book was my least favorite, and I milled about the house for two days being mad at the way it ended. Very mature I know.

We did have a family scare this week. Jason's mom Sharon fell and broke her neck. She didn't have to have surgery and is now fitted with a big brace to keep her head still. She has to be in that for 8 weeks and then another neck brace for a few more weeks after that. So a quick prayer her way would be greatly appreciated I am sure.

The pictures this week consist of flies, doughnuts, and bowling. What a sentence! Friday night we experience the flies. I purchased food at Harding and then 4 days later we have flies. hmmmm you do the math. Anyways, we took at as an adventure. J armed with a rolled up magazine, me with a towel, and tenille with . . whatever she could find, ran around the house chasing and killing flies. The number is in the disgusting factor so I will not go into that but I am happy to say that I only saw one stubborn one this morning and that my friends is an achievement. These things would NOT die. We hit them, stun them, and then they would get back up and fly again! Yuck!

Saturday Tenille got to go to a birthday party for one of her friends at school. They went bowling and had SO much fun. They also got to play arcade games and eat pizza and cake. She passed out in the car on the way home.

Lastly we have the doughnut picture. We made (from scratch) doughnuts. They are awesome! We made them Saturday night and then baked them and put sugar on them Sunday morning. So fun. A tad messy.

Tenille is trying her best not to tell anyone what their presents are. She keeps asking me, can I tell them what their present is NOW? I am so proud because she hasn't spilled the beans at all. We took her teacher a present this morning and as Ms. Terry was opening it she asked me, Mom can I tell her now? I said I think she can figure it out tenille. :)

We gave the neighbors and the other people in Tenille's life jars of honey. The honey came from my Uncle Jack's hive. They have been a BIG hit this year. Everyone is so excited about honey. Who knew? And the best part is, it is something good for you! May have to do it again next year.

Okay, last but not least I am posting Tenille's quote of the week. Sunday (after eating all those doughnuts) Tenille is trying SO hard to go to the bathroom while J and I are brushing out teeth. Tenille is making all sorts of noises in the bathroom and then says, "Hey, I'm just like a ketchup bottle. I make a lot of noise but little comes out" It was all I could do not to laugh right there in her face because she was so serious and J actually had to cover his mouth to keep the toothpaste from coming out. Our kid is so smart and funny. AND she and Hank BOTH slept all night last night. Praise the Lord. It is a Christmas miracle. :) I hope this finds you prepared for the Christmas season. We wish you all and Merry Christmas!

Catching flies

Not sure why but we had 30 flies in our house yesterday. Well they kept coming back to life so maybe we just stunned a couple many times! Yep we let Tenille catch em too! Yes we wash our hands!

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 24

Another week . . another story!

Tenille is currently living in a Rapunzel dress. We get up . . put it on. Take it off for school (wants to wear it to school but we finally convinced her she might get it dirty/she didn't have enough to share with everyone) come home from school and put it back on. Ask to wear it to bed. Pout because the answer is no and end up sleeping with it next to her bed. Repeat. Except on the weekend. She can wear the living crude out of the thing and love it. Bath last night . . . right back into the dress . . now with a crown. Loves the dress . . loves it. I'm starting to wonder if it goes in the wash or not . . I think not. We might lose the sparkles. She keeps saying that she is pretending it is Halloween. She also burst into song while in the dress.

J had a super busy weekend. He split wood, stacked wood, and most important put in a new door in our garage. Yes, we have replaced the rotten wooden door with a door that shuts and holds out the snow and wind. We had a hole in the last door that was the size of a baseball. Our garage is so much warmer now. :) Another project checked off the to do list around here. Awesome.

In my world I am now the proud owner of an Iphone . . so cool. I love the camera . . it takes better pictures than my camera. School is almost done. Eight more school days. 4 of which are midterms. My kids are finally starting to get the fact that maybe they should try to study . . .what an idea. Their midterms are worth 20 percent of their grades and I have kids saying . . .yeah . . I'm not going to study. AHHHHHH! Make me want to pull my hair out.

Hank is doing well. J got 4 pigeons this weekend. A friend of our raises them and races them. These 4 were not racing well or breeding well so now they are training tools for Hank. Unfortunately the birds don't make it through the training session. We are down to one bird in our chicken coop. Tenille seems OK with the whole thing. We gets so excited when hank brings the bird back that she doesn't mind the fact it dies. Hmmmm I wonder what exactly we are teaching her. It is probably the same thing that we are teaching her when we let her play with a pair of antlers J got off a buck a few years ago. What does our girl do with them? Why put baby Jesus in there of course. She wanted to sleep with the antlers . . hmmmm no. She wanted to take them to school.... hmmmm no (teacher was afraid of snake skin, what do you think she will do with part of a deer head). We compromise with putting the antlers in the car and taking them places but NOT taking them out of the car. Oh this girl. What are we teaching her?

I took her to a swim meet this week. It was senior night and I wanted to see my kids swim. This is a sport I actually get and can cheer for. Tenille's questions are as follows:
1. Mom which ones are your naught kids
2. Where are their floaties?
3. How come they wear goggles and hats? I don't wear a hat when I swim.
4. Why are those kids flopping around down there? (the divers were practicing on mats)
We left early to go help my nephew with math homework. Ahhh the job of a teacher never ends.

Well that is about it. Hope your day is great and your shopping is done. How's that wrapping coming along.

Chicago! What a city!

We went up for the weekend to visit my brother Mark. We had such a great time. We went to the German Christmas market. Went up and down 16 escalators (a word that Tenille can say VERY well because she likes riding them so much) at Macy's. Went to Winter Fest on Navy pier. While there she road Thomas the train, built a bear, test drove jeep, and watched all the people!

The food there is so good and Tenille did great in the restaurants. She was so tired that she passed out after building her bear and slept the whole way from Navy pier to the L back to wrigglyvile. Everyone on the L thought she was so cute because she was still clutching her new bear named "Peek a boo" the whole time. She made a blue bear with a red dress. She then decided to name another of her bears "I see you" So we have peek a boo and I see you. Clever right?

On the way home we of course stopped at Cabela's and finished up our Christmas shopping. :) And guess what? They have escalators there too. So Tenille and I spent a good chunk of our time riding the escalators.

All in all the trip was great success. It rained a little but not bad (we just hide inside stores when it started to rain)

Got another full week of school but only 13 more school days until break. I am not sure to be happy about that or worry. That equals out to only 4 more days with my classes before midterms start and some of my students are not ready.

We lost a mess of trees and grapevines when all the snow melted. We came home, looked out the living room windows and went "oh my" Guess we have more firewood! :) We have tackled most of the vines by the house but the ones down below . . well they are still growing. :(

Hank is doing great and Sasha is keeping him occupied most of the time. Good thing we have her. :) I hope your week goes well.

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 22

This week is taking forever but at the same time it is Thursday and I haven't sent you any pictures of our sweet darling child!

Tenille and her vocabulary at what we are find the cutest right now:

1) I find a huge mess of soap in her sink

me: Tenille come here I want to ask you what happened in your sink

T: It seems that I had took much soap.

2)Tenille hanging breakable ornaments on the tree without anyone in the room:

me: Tenille how did you get those ornaments out?

T: With my hands.

They really must be stressing manners are school because even when she is raging mad in time out she is saying things like, "PLEASE I want out of timeout!"

We got out tree this last weekend and had a great thanksgiving. Tenille has her own tree in her room and her room now sort of looks like Vegas . . . all lite up all the time. She loved the snow this week. We of course made snow angels and snowmen and ate snow.

Well I now there is more to say but the bell has rung and my five minutes are up . . . .

Have a great day!

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 21

Good Sunny afternoon!

This weekend proved fruitful as Jason and Nikki Barnes went hunting and a nine point buck came out of the woods. He is awesome and is going to taste so yummy! :)

We had a lovely thanksgiving this weekend and it was good to see everyone. My cousin was in town from Canada and there was also a baby shower. Tenille, Jason, and I all had the plague as well call it. Head cold, with a cough that just won't stop. I didn't want to infect my cousin's new baby so I stayed away from the shower. Can't wait to see Paisley though . . .she will be back for Christmas.

Since we were all sick we pretty much stayed at home and sat by the fire. That always makes us feel better.

I forgot last week to post the bubble pick of Tenille. Brie and her took a bath together and when I came in to check on them that is all you could see. They were both so happy. I mean, who wouldn't love all those bubbles?

Tenille made the famous, Thanksgiving Indian vest and hair band. She now runs around the house yelling . . "I'm am Indian" and making Indian noises. Not sure how to spell those. :)

We have another thanksgiving on Thursday and then it's Black Friday! :) Not sure what to do this year because everyone is opening so early. But I can tell you FOR SURE that we will be getting that snow globe at JcPenny's at 4 am and having hot cocoa some time later!

That is pretty much it. When you are sick you don't do a whole lot. :) Here is to hoping your Thanksgiving day is awesome and that you take a few moments to remember what you are thankful for.

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 20

I'm not sure what to make of this week since I have more pictures of animals than I do of Tenille. The buck and doe were the prize catch from Sunday morning. They are already at the processors being turned into yummy food. The head of the buck has found it's way back into my freezer awaiting a mounting. The story of how these two perished is good and you should ask J about it. I don't want to steal his thunder, but just want to say I am proud he can provide so well.

The picture of Tenille making cookies makes me so happy. That rolling pin is the one I used with my great grandma. So now Tenille gets to use her great great grandmother's rolling pin. It is so special to me There are just not a lot of things that make it around that long. Hopefully some day we will get to pass it on to Tenille's kids.

And ahhh the picture of the coon coons. We knew we have been feeding the deer but I guess we have also been feeding the coons! Our camera picked up 400 pictures in just a couple days. It only takes a picture once a min so that is a lot of eating going on down there. Luckily coon season opened Wednesday and they are going to be on their way out. (Is it sad that I know when raccoon season opens?)

This week t and I stayed home on Tuesday. I think I needed the rest more than she did. We slept from 12 - 4:15pm. What a nap. Everyone should do that sometime.

Quote of the week:
Hank barked at Sasha. J says, "Well, I see Hank found his bark" Tenille looks at him and says,"Daddy where was it?" So stinking cute! Now if we could get them both to sleep all night that would be awesome. :)

I know you all will be rushing out to see the new Twilight Movie coming out tonight at midnight. I am hoping to get to see it this weekend. We also have our first Thanksgiving and a baby shower for my cousin who lives in Canada. Can't wait to see that baby! (and my cousin too!)

Have a great week.

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 19

For the moment it has stopped raining.  Yippy!  It's hard enough with this daylight savings time but when there is NO sun to look at  . . well that is just sad!

Everyone is doing well.  Hank is getting big.  Tenille I swear grew from the time I dropped her off at school to when I came home from boot camp.

We had a three day weekend and it was awesome.  Lots of staying at home and fires and relaxing.  After having parent teacher conferences two nights last week I needed that.  I spoke with 58 different sets of parents about their kids.  That is enough to wear anyone out.  But our parents loves us much and we had a potato bar to eat one night and a soup bar the other night.  Both were awesome.

Still working on the Christmas gift front but am coming along nicely.  Got Christmas cards order this week. :)  We went and saw Santa at Linton's.  I needed the picture for a photo op later. :) Jeff's kids were with us and when Santa saw Luke was wearing a Middlebury shirt and he said . ."oh I've worked for them for 30 some years"  I grabbed Tenille and ran away.  Santa does NOT work for Middlebury Community Schools.  Santa spends all his time withe the elves in the north pole.  Oh goodness, I guess it is going to be harder to protect Tenille than I thought. :)

Tenille watched the wizard of oz for the first time this weekend.  She sat through the whole thing and was so excited about it.  Unfortunately it was on Direct T.V. so there were those commercials.  Tenille doesn't under stand commercials.  We DVR a lot of our shows and so skip right through them.  Movies don't have them.  When we go to my parents house and we are watching T.V. Tenille pouts because they have commercials at there house. :)   I can't even get my mind around the technology that she will have access to or how that will change her life from all of ours.  So cool and so scary.  Guess that is why I need to haul her outside to play with us.

Well the birds are finding our house is not the best for them.  Saturday a cooper's hawk ran right into our window in the living room.  How do you know what it was?  As the bird sat on the porch trying to recoop, I ran and got my bird identification book.  I showed Tenille and we watched it as it walked around and finally flew away.  Both dogs sat on the other side of the glass, VERY interested in it.  The other bird this week was not so lucky.  I let Hank out last night and when I opened the door to let him in all I see is feathers.  Some how that dog figured out how to catch and kill a bird and was doing his best to eat it.  He was so sad when we took the bird away.  Tenille's comment, must have been a naughty bird.  We are trying to teach her there are good reasons to kill some animals sometimes.  But mostly she just thinks we kill naughty animals to eat. :)  cute kid huh?

Well until next week . . . I will leave you with Tenille's word from last night.  Importable.  That is an important item that is moveable.  Makes sense right?

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 18

Well another Halloween has come and gone.  This one was the best yet.  She was so happy to be with her cousin and so happy to get . . .smarties!  Mary Shroyer also gave her a goodie bag full on awesome stuff.  Her fav?  The sunny d with a skull ribbon tied on it.  She also got a bag from Aunt Heather with my little pony stuff in it and a bag from my mom with a plastic lizard and other goodies.  This kid makes out like a bandit, that is for sure!

We had a great weekend(it was three days for me!)  I got Christmas shopping done, yes I sure did!  I also negotiated a treadmill.  They wanted $400 for it and it new was $1300 but they HAD to sell it because they were moving and closing on their house on Monday.  The treadmill kept giving them an error.  I gave them my number.  Went home and looked it up online and found the way to fix it.  Showed them I could fix it, and offered them $100 bucks.  They took it and J and I got a TREADMILL.  Merry Christmas to us!  We have both used it and it is awesome.  Heart rate monitor and everything.  So cool.  I think that is my best bargain of the garage selling season.  That and my free handle that makes my cabinets perfectly.  I mean, how lucky am I?

I couldn't find Tenille this morning after I got her up.  Where was she?  In Hanks cage, playing with him.  I had to save him from all the loving.  He is growing so fast that maybe soon, he will be able to with stand the love that little girl is pouring out on him.

Now it is time for the story of the frog:
Tenille has been in love with this stretchy frog with got in Maine.  It only had three legs, someone had torn off the other one.  Anyways she was so happy to have it.  She slept with it each night.  Well one night we put her to bed and she stretches it and POP! off comes another front leg.  Tenille immediately starts crying and begging me to put the leg back on.  I tell her I can't and there is more crying.  So the next day I actually find some stretchy frogs online.  They come in an assortment pack and have a blue one that is exactly the shape of the other frog but the wrong color and a green frog which is the right frog color but the wrong shape.  I buy 4 packs.  I figure if these work then I want extras in-case we lose them. :)  With shipping that is $18.70 for the frogs.  So the frogs show up.  I sneak the old frog out of Tenille's bed.  I tell her I have fixed the frog and show her the new green frog.  Tenille looks at it and smiles and then says mommy this is the WRONG frog.  He is too fat.  So I then show her the blue frog that is the right fat size but the wrong color.  She is happier but then wants to compare it to the old two leg frog.  I show her that one and she studies them all.  She looks me in the eye and says, "Yep, I'll take all three mommy!"  So now we spent $18 buck and I have to find 3 frogs in bed every morning.  Guess she showed us right?

Well parent teacher conferences Tuesday and Thursday this week.  That makes for a very long week but a nice Friday off!  Wish me luck.  The one picture of Tenille is a little fuzzy but I had to show it to you.  This is the outfit she picked to go out to eat it.  She is a fashionista for sure!

The last picture is Tenille and her cousin Katie at my mom's house.  They just kept looking at eat other like . . Really what are you wearing?  Have a great week!

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 17

This time of year is one for us where we are trying to finish up outside projects but also want to enjoy the inside of our house too.  It leads to a mixed bag of activities and when you throw in the fact that Jason and I both work outside the home it also leads to hurry get it down.  That leads to doing lots of this at the same time.  Wash the clothes from working outside with the clothes in the hamper.  What could go wrong with that?  I mean how else do I explain standing in front of my class all dressed up and going ouch!  there is something getting me, only to discover that buried inside my dress shirt in a burr.  You know the ones that magically attach themselves to EVERYTHING this time of year.  The dogs, the clothes, and Tenille's hair.  But now they are migrating even in the house.  Clothes are not safe anymore!  Jason really likes them when the end up in his underwear.  :)

We picked pumpkins this year.  We went up on US 12 since our other spot in Elkhart was closed.  Tenille got to feed goats and play in a corn box and best of all mine for gems.  To a rock loving girl I am not sure there is anything better than that.  She came home with a pumpkin but the real prize were the rocks.  She has been carrying them around and putting them in other containers.  They are all sorts of colors and she is so happy with them.  She wants to sleep with them but I told her no.  So guess what she wanted to sleep with instead?  Her pumpkin that she painted at school.  She wants to sleep with it so she can watch it grow. :)

This morning I woke her up when I turned her fan off.  She sat up in bed and said, "Don't turn my fan off I haven't slept yet!"  She actually had slept through the night.  Good kid!  Hank made it until 4 am. :)

Ok, this next story I just can't pass up telling you all but putting it in print will leave proof that she said it, and maybe that is not such a good idea for my future teenage daughter but here we go . . .
Tenille comes running up to me, "I have to pee and poooooooppp mommy!"  So we run to the bathroom.  Tenille does it all herself we just have to go for moral support now.  Anyways, she gets done and flushes and watches in all go down the toilet.  Then she looks at me and says "Look mom.  Why did that leave a mark?  hmmmm looks like a shooting star!  Yep, I made a shooting star"  My only comment was Yep it does look like a shooting star and I laughed.  I am sure that is the first time poop and shooting stars have been compared let alone in the same sentence.

We are all done great and Hank is really starting to figure stuff out.  We are working more on Tenille about being gentle with Hank than Hank really.  Christmas bazaars start this weekend!  Do you have your list yet?  Got anything bought? Less than 2 months.  :)

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 16

Rocks, Rocks, and more Rocks. These are what Tenille is currently obsessed with. We have little ones from the playground at school. Medium ones from our landscaping, and big ones from the yard. She likes the red ones most, or at least those are the ones that come home with her. We are putting them around her tree at our house. But that means that they have to make it to the tree. So currently, there is a pile in her room, there is a baggie full of them in my car, there are some that are neatly piled in the laundry room, (I mean you can't expect her to get all those rocks out of her pockets) and I am sure there are few in the house in other places. Our girl just loves rocks. Ahhh the beautiful rock.

We are trying desperately to teach her to be gentle with Hank. Good thing he is growing so fast. Yesterday she was carrying him around by the neck only. If this dog makes it I am sure they will be best friend. I find her talking to him all the time. She sits beside him when he eats, "Mommy, I don't want him to be lonely when he eats" She tries to watch cartoons with him "Kai -lan is his favorite mommy" and loves to put him in his crate, "It's his bed time mommy". So cute and also teaching her responsibility.

Jason's mom, Aunt Cathy, her two girls, and his Aunt Judy all came to town this week. Tenille loved playing old maid with them and uno. I was so proud I think she played for 45 minutes with their help. She said she would like to do that every night. :) We took a family photo and Tenille actually didn't throw a fit. I know you all think she is a perfect little angel but when it comes to having her picture taken professionally . . forget it, you better come prepared with Fruit Snacks or you are not getting one smile out of the girl.

Well that is about it. . . hope all is well. Until next week.

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 15

Good Morning Everyone!

We have picked up Hank, and now have a family of 5.   Tenille absolutely loves Hank.  She carries him around, dresses him up, puts sunglasses on him.  I'm sure as soon as he can escape he will.  We found her yesterday walking him around like he is a person, singing to him.  Poor dog.  We have taken him on "adventure walks" as Tenille calls them.  He stays with us the whole way and loves the outdoors.  He chews on everything outside and Tenille likes  to pick him up when she thinks he can't jump over the sticks. (which most of the time he can't but he could go under)  Last nights walk ended badly.  Tenille was blazing her own trail and got a bunch of burrs caught in her hair.  I had to take each one out and there were like 30 of them.  She cried so hard.  I felt so bad for her.

We had FINISHED the pool deck.  Yippy!  We had to seal it yet but it is done and looks awesome.  It did acquire two dog prints in the process but they are there for all time now! :)  We have mowed and moved leaves so much this week and our trees don't even look like they have lost leaves yet. :)  Tenille and Jason have had a great time playing in them. (As well as Hank)

We picked apples this weekend in Goshen.  It would was a good time, and we are glad we had Tenille.  All the apples were WAY WAY up there.  Tenille played "being a monkey" and got all the ones we bought.  Everyone and their brother was there so it was a little busy for us.  This next week, Jason' mom, two aunts, and two cousins are all coming in.   It will be nice to see some of them because it has been so long.  We are hoping to even get a family photo.

Well, I think that is about it.  Our world is doing great.  Everyone is healthy and we are so thankful that you are all in our lives.  Have a great day!

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 14

This week is slipping past me!  Oh my!
We had a GREAT time this past weekend on our yearly trip to Boyne.  We went in the fall so we didn't miss baby Katie being born.  We were there for two festivals and enjoyed some great time as a family.  So much fun.  We rented a house this year and that was SO nice.  We had a fire place and a full kitchen and an awesome bed to sleep in.  (Ok we got the master bedroom so of course it was sweet) :)  The lake was awesome and pretty warm and the one festival had a petting zoo which Tenille loved.  I mean when was the last time you petted a baby buffalo?  I guess when the festival is at a ski resort they can plug strings and get a buffalo. :)

We have decided to add to our family.  Hank is will be joining us this weekend.  Hello puppyville.  Tenille is absolutely in love with him but doesn't want him to get any bigger.  hmmmmm, maybe she won't notice as he grows with her?  Tenille's requirements are that it doesn't pee in the house (ditto) and that it doesn't eat her stuff animals.  ditto again.  So wish us all luck as we start this adventure.

Sasha went to the vet this week and she is doing great.  Our 10.5 year old dog is right where she should be.  A guy in the office thought that she was still a pup.  Funny huh?  While J was there he got an update on Frank, the dog that we found this summer.  He is doing awesome.  So that is great to hear.

We closed our pool yesterday.  Seems so quiet without that pump running.  It is nice however to not have to worry about the leaves and stuff getting in there anymore.  Well that is about it.  Wish you all a great weekend with great weather!

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 13

I'd thought I would start by mentioning why I sent you a picture last week of corn.  While the deer/coons/windstorm whatever it was eat up and destroyed my corn, while taking down the stalks and clearing out the garden I found those.  Rather pathetic, but I am now not a complete failure in the corn department.  :)  Yippy for me!  And as for the kid in the big sink,  she wanted to wash her cup at the fire station and doing it from inside the sink next to the water was WAY more fun than letting J do it himself.

Not much has happened around here with all this rain.  We did get the deck sealed in the one afternoon of sun. :)  It looks awesome.  Now we just have to finish that one spot and we are good!

Tenille is eating and sleeping well and that means that she woke up yesterday and her shoes, pants, and shirt all didn't fit.  I kid you not.  I put her to bed and when she woke up the only thing that still fits is her underwear.  :)

We did venture out to the library this week.  Very nice, Tenille got both her hands stamped and then cried when they started coming off when she washed her hands.  But I love them, she cried.

J passed is class that he took last week.  He spent last week training on the water and getting bumped around the East Race.  Only a few bruises.  Well I think that is it . . we found Tenille 3 more small pickles in the garden that she eat up instantly.  Oh how could I forget, it rained Saturday and J worked so Mom and I made 60 + quarts of applesauce.  That is three bushels worth.  It was a good time and it tastes so good!  Tenille even helped.

Tenille also had her first quiz in daycare/preschool.  She can correctly identify 5 uppercase letters, 1 lower case letter, the number 1, most of her shapes.  Today they are working on colors.  So cool.  I didn't even have her study!  :)  If she learns all this at 3, she is going to be bored in kindergarten.

Hope you enjoy the rain!  :)  It will stop sometime right?

wogoman weekly - volume 4 issue 12

Welcome to a rainy day in Indiana!  We got most of the stamped concrete done this weekend.  Jeff, Alec, Luke, J, and a guy we went to high school with all mixed, poured, smoothed, sprayed, and stamped concrete.  It looks so awesome.  Unfortunately we ran out of bags on concrete mix and are about 2 or 3 bags short. :(  We had to level out a lot of placed that we didn't realize were an issue.  But it looks AWESOME!  So we just have to finish the one corner, spray on the sealant and tada . . . no one will no that we have concrete that was poured like 5 different times. :)  I am so proud of our guys.  They all worked so hard!

Quote of the week from Tenille:
We are in the car going to school.
T: "Mom what is that smell?"
Me: "What smell, I don't smell anything."
T:"No, that smell.  Smell it.  It smells like chipmunk."
Me: "Oh really, what does chipmunk smell like?"
T: " Maybe it's not chipmunk, maybe it is my smellums, in my bag"
How funny is she?  Her smells in a little jar of scentsy wax that Heather gave her.  I am so glad I write these emails and blog, because some day I am going to need a laugh and that my friends and family is a good one!  Smells like chipmunk indeed!

Another one (I couldn't help but put this in)
J asked me why Ms. Mary Ellen is now the cook at school.
Tenille heard this and said," Because we can't cook our own food dad!"
True Very True.

We almost lost a member of our family this week.  J was working outside and came in to find Dorthy (Tenille's fish) on the floor.  She apparently went for the big triple axle flip and miss calculated.  She was unresponsive when care was started.  J threw her in the bowl only for her to go belly up. Hmm not good.  J left her alone for a while to come back and find her happily swimming around asking for food.  Goodness, this fish is a tough one!

Sasha did manage to kill a wood chuck yesterday.  She was so proud of it too.  I found her all snuggled up with it in the yard.  She had ripped two of the legs off.  I sent a picture to J and showed it to Tenille.  Her response? Mommy can I go see it?  What have we done to this child! :)

Hope all is well and that your rain barrels are full.  Have a great week!
