wogoman weekly - volume 2 issue 39

I know you all we be happy to know that we survived the great egg hunt 2010.  Our church had an egg hunt. 25,000 eggs and 4,000 people.  The eggs were all picked up in 1.5 minutes  Doesn't that craziness sound like something I would be in?  On that same note I fought the crowds at the wakarusa sales and got a playhouse for tenille for outside for 20 bucks.  To top that off I was able to break it down and get it in my lexus.  Now that is good stuff!

The pictures this week are of tenille and J coloring on the sun porch.  I am officially saying our porch is "open for the the season".  Daycare pictures this week focused on Tenille wearing a fire hat while she peed.  I think I will blow that one up big for her graduation. :)  And the last one is us right before the crazy egg hunt.  What fun!
Linda is here for the weekend, which is awesome.  Tenille and her are becoming good buddies.  Linda and my parents came along for the crazy egg hunt and then we all went to the chili supper in middlebury at the fire department.  There was a big "dog" there and tenille was fascinated by it and wouldn't eat until she could see it.  The guy who was the "dog" said the suit was hot and so he had to disappear quite often.  So Tenille did not eat much to say the least.
We went to Yup's for our first family treat!  Tenille loved her cone with eyes and made a pretty big mess.  She likes things clean so that caused some problems which I think we got figured out. :)
My cousin Steph is coming home for a memorial service for her husband this Friday.  The whole things is just so very sad that our hearts are still breaking.  It is amazing to me how strong my family is.
J took his final for his hazmat class this weekend and thinks he did great.  So now that he is done, I have signed up for my class I have to take.  I have to take a 3 credit hour course before June to keep my license as a teacher.  So yippy!  Guess how I am spending MY spring break?
The principals met with all the staff this week at our schools.  We are losing 4 people and are getting many things cut back because we have no money.  All freshmen sports are gone.  If the trend continues, which it looks like it might if my man Mitch doesn't do something, we will be talking about closing an elementary school in January ish and losing a principal and guidance counselor at our school.  Every school will be losing tons of important things if this happens.  At the elementary it probably means no art or p.e.  I guess the economy slump has hit middlebury.

So on that happy note I leave you all.  I did get observed this week and it went really well.  So that makes me oodles and oodles happy.  Tenille and I played outside in our garden yesterday and tenille learned to throw rocks..  I am sure that is going to bite me some day! I hope this week and this Easter season you enjoy your family and remember what is truly important!

wogoman weekly - volume 2 issue 38

Good Evening or Morning to you!
This has been another crazy week in our lives.  Again this week I have to start with sad news.  My cousin Stephanie's husband was killed in a car accident last night.  Our whole family is hurting and saddened by this horrible event.  This kind of event makes you stop and take notice of your life.  The important things are your family and loved ones.  When one of us hurts we all hurt.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Grandpa Hershberger is doing much better and was released to a nursing home.  We are all so happy that his healing is going well.
On much, much lighter notes, my garden was tilled tonight.  I am running two test plots to see where the best "sun" is.  My seeds are sprouting inside and I can't wait to plant them when they are big and strong!
Jason played donkey basketball on Saturday.  His donkey had never been ridden in 23 games so J mostly had to pull the donkey around.  It was a fun experience to watch that is for sure!  The fire department played the sheriffs department.  Fire department lost 6 to 4. :( The middlebury fire department is having a chili fundraiser on Saturday if you need a good meal.
Tenille turned 21 months old! Oh my where has the time gone!  We took her picture with Bart.  She seems to forget about him until the time for the picture and then she loves all over him.  She is fast asleep with him as we speak.  She has been biting again at school so we are back to reading the "no biting" books.  Hopefully that message will sink in!  Tenille had friends over and they all enjoyed the picnic table.  So much fun to have the sun room in action!
Well that is about it this week.  I am so sad and still in shock for my cousin.  My heart goes out to everyone involved. I love you all so very much and want each and everyone of you to know it!

wogoman weekly -volume 2 issue 37

Another week has come and gone.  Did you like the weather?  Biggest news is that Jason't grandfather (grandpa Hershberger) had a heart attack Saturday.  He is still in the hospital and his open heart surgery went well.  The medics from Middlebury were able to give him the drugs that he needed to really help him out. We are so blessed to have that kind of technology and know how. Please keep him in your prayers.
On a much lighter note . . .
another dead animal. . . .
We were attacked by a vicious ground hog. . .
Ok so it was minding it's own business but eating and destroying everything in my soon to be garden . . .
So far this year,
a bat, a squirrel, a possum, a ground hog, . . I think that is it . . .hope I didn't miss any dead animals!
Oh wait, the spiders are starting to wake up out here and I found one in the shower with me this morning.  If I was still blind I wouldn't have even seen him.  But I'm not so he died.  I hate spiders.  Anyone know who you call when you want your house sprayed to kill spiders?  Ugh I hate them!  So I guess you can add 3 dead spiders to the list of animals that have perished out here!
I have my seeds planted in my little green house and am waiting growth.  I took a lot of seeds from plants from the old house and I am hoping they made the transit fine and that I actually collected what I need so they grow.  I did plant a few vegetables but I can only get ONE tomato plant says my husband so I will just buy those from this awesome herb green house I went to last year. www.prairietrailfarm.com
Sharon's friends own it and they have the most awesome variety. Last year they gave away a free tomato plant with purchase so I got TWO plants.  I promised J I would buy only 1 but if they GIVE me another one that doesn't count, right J?
I sort of was forced to face my fear of running stairs you can fall through.  We did our Friday workout on the football bleachers.  They were stairs but not see/fall through kind.  I think it is a good place to start in my quest to conquer that fear.  I burn 450 calories in one hour.  I was pretty happy with that!
Tenille got to spend time with Phil and Sharon and my Dad this week so she got lots of grandparent time and we got some time to ourselves which was awesome.  Thank you all so much!  We went and saw Blindside . . SO AWESOME.  If you haven't seen it you need to go!
The pictures from Tenille's class are pouring in.  They took 130 of them on one day alone.   So fun to see what she does all day.  Yesterday she looked a picture of nemo and said his name.  Today she said shower and something else that I have never heard her say before.  It is SO amazing to watch her grow and LEARN!  She is starting to get so mad if you don't know what she wants and she said the word.  She doesn't have the f sound very good and she got so mad at me when I didn't get her a fork.  If you nod your head like you know what is going on it is fine unless she wants you to get her something.  Ahh the little pumpkin has awoken from her nap.  Hey a two hour nap is AWESOME!  I hope all is well and I will report on everything next week, same bat time, same bat channel.

Oh p.s she saw a snake yesterday I mean a worm.  She saw it and pointed and said SNAKE!

wogoman weekly - volume 2 issue 36

Welcome to another edition of our life!  This past week Tenille was asked to go home on Monday because of a fever ( I think I just dressed her too warm) and Thursday a letter was sent home that our precious Tenille was put in time out because she pushed another child out of the way for the slide and then bite her.  Ugh!  I told Tenille she can't do that, I don't want to find a new daycare!
The pictures from daycare are rolling in since they have a camera.

Tenille is loving her swing outside and is enjoying the room to run.  Today I let her run only to have her do a front gainer into the asphalt.  She now has a big red spot on her forehead.  Hopefully that will go away before tomorrow morning so I don't have to explain that I let Tenille run down a hill without.  :)  I know, bad parent.  She had pictures today at daycare so I am kinda surprised that she didn't fall yesterday.  Well I guess she did fall yesterday.  J put together her wagon and they went on an adventure around the woods.  It worked for a while and then she wanted to be held.  So J was carry Tenille and dragging the wagon when he slipped on the slope.  He managed to save Tenille and the wagon but got dirty himself.  When I found them, they were happily swinging on the swing.  This going on  wagon ride but only riding half way seems to be her MO.  They took at the kids down the s curves in their wagon yesterday because it was so nice and Tenille didn't want to ride anymore about half way up the hill.  So Ms. Mary Ellen had to hold Tenille and pull two wagons.  So much fun.

Tenille did spend so time reading by herself this weekend in her playroom. That was so nice.  I kept checking on her and one time I found her looking at a book with Santa in it going Ho Ho Ho.  I think she is getting ready for Christmas.

I am trying to point out the flowers that are coming up here and at daycare.  Yes I planted bulbs in the fall and can't wait to see how they turn out!  Tenille now thinks that means EVERYTHING green is a flower and went nuts when I pulled some weeds. I am lucky enough that even some of our weeds made it through the winter.
Outside we have been clearing so more dead brush and yuck.  My recycle bin is all full because I picked up so many cans and bottles.  I even cleared out a spot that has berries so I have better access to them when they come on this year.  Still trying to figure out where my garden is going.  I might do a test run of a couple of different places to see how it goes.  I already can tell that rabbits are going to a problem so I better budget for a fence too!

Saturday I, and two other fire wives, waited in line to volunteer.  Yep you read that right.  I waited 1.5 hours to volunteer to a 3 hour shift.  Why would anyone do that?  Well we are volunteering at the Wakarusa Children's resale.  If you work 3 hours then you get to shop the night BEFORE everyone else does.  That also means I have to wait in line that night to shop too, so probably I will wait like 3 hours total so I can get in line first.  I know very weird but OH the DEALS!  It is like the day after Thanksgiving Sales except with kids clothes.  So I will let you know how it goes.  The sale is March 27 and I get to shop March 26th.  Yippy!
I'm still doing "Boot Camp" after school three nights a week.  It is a very intense workout lead by a lady that can really motivate you.  It is not of sissys that's for sure.  Some days I am not sure I will even be able to wash my hair in the morning, my arms hurt that bad.  (In a good way)  Well I tell you this to brag that I did a three minutes wall sit.  It was a big deal and I won a free summer boot camp so I am pretty excited.  I am nervous about one of her work outs this summer.  She calls in the tower of terror and we are going to run the tower at bonnyville with 20 pounds of weights.  I am terrified of that stupid tower let alone holding that amount of weight about my head.  Why be terrified of a stupid tower.  Well next time you look at it, look at the stairs.  They sort of float there and there is NOTHING to stop you from falling out inbetween the steps.  I know the chances of me actually falling and then sliding horizontally are like next to nothing (I know I teach statistics) but it is still scary.  I am sure my body can't even fit through the whole yet I think the thing is terrifing.  So be prepared for the summer blog about me running up and down that stupid thing.  Well now you either think I am crazy or realize that everyone fears something.  For me it is just the tower and spiders.  I HATE those things ugh!
Well that is about it.  Our taxes are filed, I got recertified in CPR today and found the cutest pair of shoes.  Ahhhhh life is good.  I hope you are feeling just as blessed right now.
