I know this is early, right? I am so impressed with my little self today! Well my family and friends it's time again for another chapter in the wogoman life. I am sure that your lives are just as entertaining but our we post on a blog. :) This week tenille perfected the words snot and booger. Both of which are apparently not supposed to be said at daycare. I thought come on, we have a yucky yummy book and burgers are yummy and boogers are yucky. Our week started with a call to me at work that was from J. He had a migraine and was going home. Then an hour later day care called. Tenille had a slight fever, please come get her. By this time, J was home throwing up so it was up to me. I found someone to cover my class and I rushed over there. I scooped her up and was back teaching in 20 min. I think that is impressive. You may wonder what happened to tenille? I smuggled her in the door and she ate lunch at my desk. Then third block she sat next to one of my students and colored on the markerboard. My students gave her fruit snacks and she had a ball. Grandma Watson then came to the rescue and took tenille home because I had a dentist appointment and you CAN'T miss those! I have promised my mother that I will go even when she is dead! Otherwise she claims she will come back to haunt me. By the time I got done with school, and the dentist, picked tenille up and made it home, J was still sleeping from his head. Wednesday, we take her back to daycare because her fever never was 100 degrees, the magic, you must stay home number. With 15 minutes left of school I am called from daycare to pick up tenille because she has a fever of 100.5 degrees. J was coming to get her at 4 so that was OK. The bad part was now she couldn't go to school Thursday, which since J worked, I couldn't go to school either. Boy were my students ticked! So Thursday I stay home with Tenille and we both take lots of naps because we didn't sleep at all the night before. Sleep who needs sleep? Friday, J stayed home with her because she still had green stuff running out her nose. They both had a great time together. J complained because there was a poopie diaper but I shouldn't have laughed. At dinner Friday night Tenille starts hiding behind a chair. I ask J, "You think she is pooping?" The answer is always yes to that question. Then Tenille proclaims that she has to go po po and runs to the bathroom. Here I find the smelliest thing I have seen for some time. In the end I got it on, my finger, her socks, her pants, all over her butt, and my favorite, her ankle. She holds up her foot and says, eeeewwww, yucky! Yes, tenille that was yucky. And J is just laughing in the other room with, "do you need any help" comments. So watch what you say or God will smite you! J participated in the Mustache Bash again this year. They had a thing about it on Fox news. J made it 14 days I think before he went nuts and had to pay another 20 bucks to get out of the contest. So 20 bucks to get in 20 bucks to get out and yes it all goes to a good cause. I'm starting to droll over my seed catalogs and want J to start clearing my garden! Ahh, I can smell spring, even over the snow. Our only animal incident this week was from the flock or gaggle (whatever you want to call a whole bunch) of cardinals that attacked my bird feeder on Thursday. They must have known a storm was coming because they ate EVERYTHING out there. They looked so cool. I hope this week tickles you as much as the dead possum under a trash can story. Until next week. As for the pictures, I found that Tenille can now get into her medicine drawer and it all had to be moved. But before that could happen tenile put shampoo on her toothbrush and oragel in the shampoo. At least you know we are teaching her to brush her teeth. That should make Aunt Cathy and Uncle Barry very happy. :) |

wogoman weekly - volume 2 issue 34
So on to what you have been waiting for the topic of the week and the story. . . All I can say is frozen . . . . . . . dead . .. . (gotta already don't I) . . . . . Opossum! I mean who would not want one of those cute little things? I looked out our basement porch Saturday morning to find it, all curled up on the porch. I was a little worried the dogs would carry it in the house. So when Tenille took her nap I went out there, rubber glove and big boots. I got out there and the thing was pretty dead. (tongue hanging out and all that) I kicked it with my boots and it stayed right there. I kicked it harder and just hurt my toe. Frozen possumsicle! yummo! It didn't bother me it was dead, I mean my dad has hunted and trapped my whole life. Dead is dead as long as it is not your pet. :) I thought about boiling water and pouring it on the thing, but then I was afraid I would sort of cook it, and I bet they don't smell all that awesome. So I did what any resourceful fire wife would do. I put a trash can over it so the dogs could't rub on it and waited for J do get home. It took some hacking with a shovel to remove all the parts but it is now not attached to our porch. :) Not sure how he got there but glad he is gone. So let me recap: we have been attacked by a bat, a huge woodpecker, and a dead possum. I am glad I am not a city girl. :) I know tons who would have freaked out with the possum thing. emma is a little messy . . . We gave the daycare our old camera and they have started taking pictures for us. There are some this week with them playing with shaving cream. They are learning about textures. Anyways, the girl next to Tenille is completely COVERED in it. Tenille just looks at here like, what is wrong with you? I laughed out loud! J had worked some more outside cutting back the overgrown wildlife. I have started dreaming of my flowers and garden I am going to plant. The bulbs I planted last fall are starting to come up. I am SO excited I can't wait for spring and summer. I can smell spring in the air. If you take the time to listen the birds have started to really talk in the morning. We now also have a owl that whos at us sometimes. We love being out here in the country. So what if they don't plow our road. Good, keep the people AWAY from us. Don't I sound like a hermit? J is getting closer to being done with hazmat school, and I am getting closer to spring break! J got selected to got a fire school this summer. Very cool, all expenses paid for a week. We will miss him a ton but it is such a great opportunity for him to go. Next time you see him, ask me about it. Well, I have seed catalogs to look at . .. do you know they make purple beans? hmmmmmmm hope everyone likes vegetables! until next week! |

wogoman weekly - volume 2 issue 33
Good Morning or Evening! I hope you enjoyed your fat Tuesday. Well I would like to say I have a great reason for not writing earlier this week but I don't. I took my president's day off and finished a book. I finished up Wicked. Really a strange little book. Very dark and mysterious. Can't wait for it to be back in Chicago at the end of this year! Tenille is threatening her independence all over the place. For instance, tonight she wanted to feed the dogs. What in the world could go wrong right? I look away for 1 second so I can fold some laundry and I her plunk instead of food hitting metal. Tenille dumped LOTS of dog food into their water and was so proud of herself for helping. When I tried to show her the correct bowl. . . she didn't like that. Isn't she too young to want to do everything herself? She learned the word snot this weekend while I was gone. I'll let you guess who taught her that! J Since we can't have a week go by without a little adventure, I shall recap the filling the hot tub story for you. Tenille was sleeping, I was reading, and J was doing stuff outside. He cleaned the hot tub filters and decided to put more water in. Then I hear a four letter word. I closed my book and thought, huh, this can't be good. So I start looking around the house for J. I found him in the basement with water splashed all over the walls and him standing in 2 inches of it. Well at least at this point I know why we had the four letter word. Turns out a pipe froze and when he tried to fill up the hot tub. . . well it went everywhere. We are very bless because it missed the electric control panel by about half and inch, and by the time we got the shop vac from the shed, the water was almost all drained out anyway. I am sure that there are people out there who go weeks, months, or maybe in years without a fun event, but yet we get them all the time. Maybe I just like to live in the moment. Scrapbooking was another success this year. We had 8 of us that went. We are hoping to get 12 or at least 10 for next year . . anyone want to go? Not sure where we are headed off too next year but I am sure it will be a great time. Well until you hear about our next colorful adventure have a great day! oh just one quick comment on Tenille's pictures. Yes, she is standing on the counter again. So far we haven't had a problem. :) Two, Tenille sitting in the rocker is with her new smile. Isn't that lovely? Tracy "A year from now you will wish you had started today" - Karen Lamb |

wogoman weekly - volume 2 issue 31
Hello wonderful family and friends! I thought I would start this week where we last left off. (And before I begin, I just want to know, Do you all have stories like these or are Jason and I just lucky to have such a comical life?) Last we left off our hero had closed the hole in the side of the house and the bat was release into the wild barely escaping the jaw of death from Harry. Two days later I am trying to take a nap, when what do my wondering ear hear? A crazy bird in our house? I jumped up and ran to the window, I torn open the shutter and through up the sash (wait we don't have those . . .I just opened the curtain) and saw . . a very LARGE ticked off wood pecker who couldn't get into her house. It seems a foot and a half large pileated woodpecker had built the nest we found in our attic. I mean sure our house is brown and is in the woods but why would a bird think after successfully making a hole into our attic that she could stay there? I bet she was so happy because once she got in, well, there was a whole lot of room up there. :0 So as of now the hole is still plugged and hopefully we will be putting up steal or some other non woodpecker material. You all thought I was crazy when I said the birds were eating our house huh? Tenille must be getting ready to grow because she wakes up in the night hungry. And she got another tooth on the bottom (did I already tell you that?) and is apparently using the other kids at daycare as chew toys . . I mean teethers . .. :) She is also getting a molar WAY back there. If I give Elmo the oragel first I usually don't get bit, but I am surprised she hasn't drawn blood yet. Seriously does all this crazy stuff happen to you and you just don't post it on the web? Our weekend was filled with lots of family time. Tenille got to spend time with Jeff and Heather and the kids. She even helped with the brownies! J and I are going to Chicago for a conference and to see my brother. Should be a great time. He is a great host and so I am sure we will see the sights! :) I am currently working on making napkins! Oh how my sewing is coming along! :) They seem very easy to make but gee . . that is a lot of folding for a napkin! I also got some Elmo fabric and hope to make her a new pillow case. . . won't she be excited. Right now she just carries around the fabric. :) She helped me tonight with making dog biscuits. Oh so much fun. Good thing it was bath night! There are also pictures of her fun with a box. Aunt Angie sent the A to Z zoo which Tenille loves but she also has found the box! :) And by the way Angie, the bag the bat was in was yours too. Thanks! :) I'll have to get a picture of her on the potty. Some days are better than others. We are almost out of diapers and into pull ups. Where did my baby go? Last night when I was rocking her I noticed her feet hang WAY off the end of the arm rest. When were the days she used to reach out her foot and trace the arm rest. Ugh . . . . I bet it only gets worse. :) On the trauma side of things, Tenille did stick her finger in a pencil sharpener and turned her finger. Blood everywhere! Tenille got a band aid for that! I have since put the pencil sharpener up. :) |
